A new community garden in an abandoned space

Raised beds at Holy Brook Nook

When Food4Families were asked to move out of Lavender Place, we looked around for a new home. Around the same time, Nature Nurture was given some funding to develop a patch of abandoned land between the IDR and the Holy Brook on the edge of Coley.

With their help, we moved the prize-winning Well-being Garden and several of our raised vegetable beds from Lavender Place and rebuilt them at the Nook.

Since then, we've been running gardening sessions every Friday, where volunteers come along and learn about growing fruit and vegetables. For most of the year, the sessions are from 3 to 5pm, but in the winter they run from 1pm to 3pm.
